Extensive search procedures by police, firefighters and dog rescue squadron
Event: Request for Help/Missing Item Location: 54568 Gerolstein-Lissingen, Forest District Time: 10.10.2021 8:45 p.m. – 31.20.2021 2:45 a.m. Saturday evening 74-year-old driver from Gerolstein Community request for help On an emergency call to Dawn Police. He got stuck in the woods between Gerolstein-Lissingen and Büdesheim. In addition, due to the darkness, he no longer knew where he was. Due to the man’s disoriented and helpless condition, Dawn Police embarked on extensive investigations and search procedures. Furthermore, the man could no longer be reached on his mobile phone. In addition to cell phone tracking, officers from Down and Broome Police Stations, as well as search forces from the Gerolstein, Lisingen and Baiersborn fire brigades and the Rescue Dog Rescue Unit, went to the emergency room to conduct a coordinated search with the drones. The planned use of the police helicopter failed due to the weather. Due to the location of the mobile, the search area was extended to the forest area on either side of the B410 between Gerolstein-Lissingen and Büdesheim. At approximately 2:45 a.m., the man was found physically safe in his car on a remote forest road in Dunkelseven. Thanks to the commitment of the deployed forces, the man was able to be transported from his predicament to hospital care.
