Suddenly we’re already in the third part of our potential 2021 games. Having introduced you to games with a fixed release date in Part 1 and games with a rough release period in Part 2, today we’re coming to particularly hard-to-rate titles that were previously marked only with “To launch sometime in 2021.”
Of course, there are some particularly big and exciting projects here that many gaming fans will look forward to. We are talking about the new Far Cry 6, Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil 8 or the new God of War. All these great adventures must be delivered to players this year. Except for the developer and publisher, no one knows when games are planned.
We don’t expect – and neither should you – test and enjoy these games sooner rather than later. However, it is of course part of our 2021 games lineup, which we are really looking forward to. Below you will find some preliminary information, photos and videos.
These games are scheduled to launch sometime in 2021
Gotham Knights
Batman fans can look forward to a new Batman video game in 2021. This was developed by WB Games Montréal and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Gotham Knights will be based on DC Comics, and the genre description has so far been filed as Action-RPG. Gotham Knights will appear on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and next-gen consoles Xbox Series X / S and PS5.
Most importantly: Batman is dead. This was clearly evident in the first trailer for the game starting in August 2020. It is now up to those around him and those closest to him to protect Gotham City and its residents.
Far Cry 6
The next big title with no specific date in 2021 is Far Cry 6. In July of last year, a leak about the continuation of the series from Ubisoft debuted, followed three days later by the full and official reveal – including a trailer, the movie title sequence for the game Reveal. Far Cry 6 was originally supposed to launch on February 18, but has been postponed indefinitely this year in October due to the coronavirus impact on development.
In the game itself, we explore the island of Yara, which has survived in time, and we face the villain and “El Presidente” Antón Castillo (also known as “Gustavo Fring” from Breaking Bad or as Giancarlo Esposito). In the trailer, he actually shows his son how to authoritarian rule a country – and above all, what kind of problems he might face …
God of War: Ragnarok
One of the highlights of 2021 could be one of the most important events that we don’t know much about yet. We are talking about God of War: Ragnarok. The next installment of Sony’s highly successful franchise will be an action adventure, which will be released for the PlayStation 5. Only when it’s still not entirely clear.
The new God of War game was revealed on September 16, 2020 as part of the PlayStation 5 pricing and release date announced. There’s not even a real trailer to see yet. On the PS5 iteration, the only teaser can be seen from the 15:44 PM.
Hogwarts Legacy
2021 could be a very special year for Harry Potter fans, too. With “Hogwarts Legacy”, an entirely new open-world RPG was also introduced on September 16, 2020, developed by Avalanche and published by Warner Bros. Entertainment.
The new game lets you experience the Hogwarts Wizarding School in the 19th century. Your character, of course, is no ordinary student – the character holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the whole world of magic to pieces. This is how it came in the official description.
Despite the time delay compared to the stories that have been told to you in the movies and books about Harry Potter, you will find many things, practices and rituals known in the game and you get to know them … Just look at the talking hat in the trailer, which is also here to really recognize the student it belongs to Which of the four famous houses.
Resident Evil 8: The Village
2021 will also be a good year for Resident Evil fans. Because in addition to the new series “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness”, which will be appearing on Netflix this year, the eighth installment of the video game series will also be published under the name “Village”.
The following video showed a new gameplay of the game on PlayStation 5 in November 2020. Of course, in addition to the new technology introduced by the next-generation console, it is again about survival and horror. Resident Evil 8: Village will also appear on PC and Xbox Series X.
12 minutes
The Annapurna Interactive will offer us a really exciting title in 2021. Developed by Luis Antonio, we are entering a fictional world in which we feel interactive excitement. It is about a man trapped in a seemingly eternal period of time.
The Cast Reveal Show tells us, among other things, that James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley and Willem Dafoe will be there when the Twelve Minutes arrive on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC this year.
Apex Legends (Switch)
Well, Apex Legends, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, is not really a new title. The game is a bit of a hit, especially in its genre, but for sure. That’s why we’re revisiting the planned 2021 Nintendo Switch release here.
Only when we are able to fight for survival that’s relatively colorful with the different legends in the game, that is uncertain yet. Switching players and battle royale fans can definitely look forward to this. There’s no gameplay or promo for the Switch version of Apex yet, which is why you can find out what’s going on in the game overall in the trailer for the current rally.
Dungeons and Dragons: The Alliance of Darkness
The “Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance” project was first revealed at the Game Awards in 2019. “Slay with your friends” was one of the primary mottos for the developers when they started developing the game. RPG by developer Tuque Games and publisher Wizards of the Coast is supposed to be an RPG, which centers on the famous characters Drizzt Do’Urden and his buddies Cattie-Brie, Bruenor and Wulfgar.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Evil west
It wasn’t long after Evil West was revealed. In December 2020, developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Focus Home Interactive showed us more about the new dark western shooter, which premiered at the 2020 Game Awards.
You will either find yourself alone or cooperatively in a dark fantasy environment, fighting against vampires and many other brutal actions. The character seen in the trailer is not a Wild West cowboy, but a vampire hunter Jesse Rinder himself. You can slip into his skin in 2021 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and of course, on PC.
Phasmophobia
Why is the horror title Phasmophobia, a hit especially Twitch.tv, shown here? Didn’t it appear long ago? Yes and no. As of now, Kinetic Games on Steam’s cooperative ghost hunter adventure is still in early access. According to the developers, this should be abandoned sometime this year and the full version should be ready. This plan could change in the context of early access development. So don’t be sure you can still definitely play the final full version here in 2021.
But that should not be important to many players, because even in the current situation you can have a lot of fun with friends and have a lot of crawling while hunting all kinds of supernatural beings. With the full version, you should play more cards, ghosts, equipment, and other features.
Stalker 2
We have already received an update for STALKER 2 in 2021, but there is still no publication date. After all, the still somewhat up-to-date in-game trailer shows us next-generation atmospheric graphics that single-player shooter from developer GSC Game World has to convince.
Stalker 2 will be the fourth installment in the series, which debuted with Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl in 2007. It was followed by Clear Sky in 2008 and Call of Pripyat in 2009. The series is set in the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
War Hammer 40000: Darktide
The game series in the Warhammer franchise will be longer and longer again in 2021. We already know that with “Warhammer 40,000: Darktide” and “Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground” there are at least two major new projects in the room that will see the light of day in the world. Video games this year.
Darktide is a first-person action adventure from Swedish developer and publisher Fatshark. The game will appear on PC and Xbox Series X / S and enable co-op play. In December 2020, a gameplay trailer was introduced to the community for the first time, which shows how blunt acting can be in the world of 40K. Players take on the role of a squad of imperial soldiers and meet with all kinds of enemies. A large ogre can actually be seen in the trailer.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground
The second Warhammer game of 2021 is “Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground”. This is a strategy game set in the fantasy sector of the franchise and it comes from developer Gasket Games. Focus Home Interactive appears here as a publisher.
In the first strategy game in the Dark Age of Sigmar universe, we must lead armies, unlock new units, and get all kinds of customization options. The title will appear on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
