8 Hotels in Milan for Salone del Mobile 2021

Salone del Mobile is back in Milan. Here is the collection of hotels we enjoy!

be a buddy, the design. Be Mate is the apartment version of the Spanish hotel brand Room Mate, which also has its own hotel in Milan: Giulia, which supports the Galleria. Chosen for the autonomy and freedom offered by pied-à-terre, the Be Mate apartments in Milan, in different sizes, are furnished without much imagination but fully equipped. They were also chosen for their location in this lively part of town, at the crossroads of Brera and Corso Garibaldi, a stone’s throw from Sforza Castle. Via Tivoli, fourth phone. +39 02 87165657. bvlgari hotel, except. Hidden at the end of a private road, Bulgari is not easily introduced to visitors. We do it at Ferrari more easily than walking, dark glasses and high heels required. But nothing flashy in its decor from sumptuous sobriety, with materials of great nobility (oak, linen, granite), timeless design, though 16 years old, never aging (completely renovated in 2014). At cocktail hour, all Milanese love to show off on their garden-adjacent balcony, before debuting at the multi-star restaurant run by Nico Romito. Because it is indeed a theater, both by its form and by the Italian cuisine which is perfectly interpreted. A seductive taste of what this wonderful chef has to offer in his restaurant in Castel di Sangro, in Abruzzo.

paris palace, Great. If there was a palace on this site in the 17th century, owner and architect Paola Giampelli has imagined the mansion of her dreams in a former 1950s bank. An ambitious project, opened in 2013, required more than five years of work and where, intersecting, a blend of Italian neoclassicism, modern luxury and a Parisian touch. To do this, the Italian architect called on the expertise of Pierre-Yves Rochon, who brought different influences to life: luxurious marble in the lobby, elegant comfort in the rooms, the Moroccan atmosphere in the spa, painted ceilings in the lobby. Restaurant, woodwork and pillars in the bar. Each space is a universe in itself, we pass through like a filmmaker visiting his sets. Corso di Porta Nova, 1. Tel. +39 02 625625. Palazzoparigi.com

Our hotels in Milan are intimate or very central

Mandarin Oriental, Defendant. It is one of the few high-end luxury hotels that, despite being in the city centre, has the quiet privacy. Four 18th-century buildings were grouped together to form this group, which was entrusted to the architectural firm of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. They are deployed around two inner courtyards, one dedicated to the Michelin-starred Seta, the other to the bar and bistro where, depending on the time of day, we stop by to extend our breakfast or anticipate appetizers. The rooms pay homage to a discreet homage to classic Italian design, incorporating beautiful materials and contemporary luxury without going overboard. For those looking for even more sensations, the homage to the Gio Ponti Pavilion is a journey in itself. Unless you prefer a person’s imagination dedicated to Piero Fornasetti. The spacious, relaxing spa with indoor pool keeps the promise of total seclusion. Yes, the city is very close and at hand however it is difficult to leave this place.

park hyatt, excessive. It’s hard to be closer to the gorgeous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and it’s hard to be closer to the Duomo, the heart of Milan. A discreet entrance opens to a glass roof, La Cupola, a central living space that moves from morning to night. Then other, more intimate spaces follow one another: the Mio Lab bar and its elaborate cocktails, the two-star Vun Restaurant. Finally, the rooms are decorated with that timeless and timeless spirit that is the signature of the brand. The lucky ones (or the far-sighted) will enjoy a balcony overlooking the Duomo, or a view of the gallery entrance, and that’s not bad either! Via Tommaso Grossi, 1. Tel. +39 02 88211234. Hyatt.com

prince of savoy, legendary. We may want more modernity, more hype, glamor, fashion… However, we will always want to go back to Principe di Savoia. On a night, meal, or drink, it doesn’t matter, it’s reassuring to know he’s there, legendary, luxurious, yet discreet, attentive to all our desires. Isn’t that the definition of a (magnificent) classic?

Senato Milan Hotel, About. This was a small mansion for a family who shared spaces there before deciding to convert it into a hotel. Here, everything is played in black and white. The exteriors are white, the walls of the inner courtyard are black, and the tub is black. The lobby is in black and white and decorated with some brass furniture. White Senato Caffè, which overlooks the small back garden, is white in the bedrooms, but always with touches of gold that add sparkle to the whole. A hotel that is both quaint and intimate, for those who don’t like to reveal themselves too much. Via Senato 22. Tel. +39 02 781236. Senatohotelmilano.it

VIU Milan, contemporary. Head to Porta Volta, a thriving district, to experience Milan in contemporary style, also to be within a stone’s throw of bustling Chinatown and trendy Corso Como. In keeping with the new buildings that surround it, this building, partially covered with vegetation, was signed by the architects studio Arrassiatti. The interior, designed by Nicola Galizia, has all the hallmarks of a large contemporary hotel, but without overpowering or eye-catching influences, with a certain poise in colors and materials. The magic touch of VIU Milan is the rooftop pool with 360° view.
