A thief steals from sleeping passengers at Düsseldorf Airport
Dusseldorf A thief stole at Dusseldorf Airport in the wee hours of the morning. He may not have expected the Federal Police to intervene quickly.
Police said a thief stole a cell phone and branded shoes at Düsseldorf Airport in the early hours of the morning on May 19.
At around 2:30 a.m., a 43-year-old Spaniard noticed that someone had stolen his cell phone and shoes after he had briefly slept on a bench. He turned to Federal Police patrol.
Officers checked video cameras first and after only 20 minutes they found a 38-year-old suspect in the departure area of the airport. He had shoes and a cell phone worth 300 euros.
The Spaniard took his belongings and was unable to continue.
Criminal proceedings against the thief have begun. In addition, he is now banned from entering Düsseldorf airport for a year.
