On Tuesday 15 June, the Nora Schopfer exhibition will open at the Waltherhaus in Bosen. The artist will be present from three in the afternoon until six in the evening.
The exhibition was supposed to take place as part of “Blick – Kunst – Tirol” in November last year, but had to be postponed until this year. Innsbruck-born artist Nora Schöffer was awarded the Tyrol State Prize for Contemporary Art in 2018. In her multi-layered abstract work, she investigates questions of the processes of perception and perception.
Her works – installations, paintings, photographs and drawings exposed and covered in paint – reveal reality as compositions among many. It is based on a philosophical way of thinking that you cannot develop verbally with difficulty. Schöpfer wants to connect figurative spaces with lines and shapes and create chains of connections in vision and thinking. Space-time relationships and their perception play an important role for Nora Schopfer.
Nora Schopfer was born in Innsbruck in 1962. From 1984 she studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with Prof. Oswald Oberhuber and Prof. Ernst Caramel and graduated in 1991 with a diploma. At first she was known as an illustrator, now she works with different mediums, from drawing to installation to photography and video.
In addition to several solo exhibitions in Innsbruck, Nora Schöpfer has also held such exhibitions in Kitzbühel, Almeria (E) and Villa (I), and has also participated in several international group exhibitions. Presented in 2003 at the Prisma Gallery in Bolzano. There are permanent installations at Giardino di Daniel Spoerri in Seggiano (I) and at the Beeldentuin Sculpture Garden Achter de Westduine in Zeeland (NL).
A catalog (€9) has been published to accompany the exhibition. There will be a virtual introduction on the website of the Cultural Institute.
The exhibition remains free until July 3, Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm, and on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm, visitors only wear mouth and nose guards.
