How to log out of WhatsApp Web and keep it safe

There is a vulnerability that you should be aware of when using the browser version. When you close a browser tab – or the browser entirely – it doesn’t sign you out of your WhatsApp account. So someone can reopen the browser tab and access WhatsApp chats and reply like you.

So, if this scenario is possible for you (maybe you have roommates or a nosy spouse), it is imperative that you log out of your WhatsApp account before closing the browser. You do this by going to Settings -> Associated Devices On the WhatsApp mobile app, by selecting the authorized computer and pressing sign out.
