What products are needed to clean PC or Mac keyboard keys?
- Start with Stop and disconnect Your computer if it is charging.
- Turn the keyboard over first. By shaking it lightly to make the crumbs fall out, you will be surprised.
- To clean keys, do not spray. Never spray liquid product directly on it. Abrasive or bleaching products should be avoided, as should hydroalcoholic gel. For PCs, Microsoft recommends using can of compressed air Which will expel debris and dust from the keyboard surface thanks to the straw-shaped tip.
- Then moisten lightly. Soft, lint-free cloth (Microfiber), or a cotton swab, with a mixture of water and soap to gently wipe the keys but do not run water over them. Don't forget the underside of the keyboard.
- For Macintosh, Apple also recommends using a can of compressed air. “Keep the end of this rod about 13mm away from the keyboard while you vaporize your keyboard, which should be held at a 75-degree angle so it is not vertical. Spray from left to right. Rotate the keyboard and repeat to make sure you don’t miss any areas. Use a wipe soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol or 75% ethyl alcohol, or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, to remove stubborn black marks from components under the keys.”
