Thanks to the partnership between the Marcel-Pagnol Media Library and the Aubagnais Chess Circle (see website), a chess tournament for children aged 8 to 15 has been held every summer for several years.

The course is free, led by the circle on a voluntary basis. The first one was held in July. In this new course, from August 20 to 23, 12 children between the ages of 8 and 13 are registered. The children will be supervised by Alain Miguel, President of the Aubanais Chess Circle, who is also a qualified coach from the French Chess Federation.

When asked if playing chess is really difficult, Alan Miguel replied: “There is a widespread opinion.” Moving the pieces is easy, but you have to learn strategy and tactics. Playing chess has many benefits, for concentration, memory and abstraction. »
