At the end of March, the Avant-Monts youth service, via its Youth Information Point, launched a tour of the area’s colleges, as part of Trades Days, in partnership with Info jeunes Occitanie. The initiative was put into place after the trade forum, which usually takes place in February for all college students at Avant-Monts, was canceled.
Divided into workshops, in small groups, and equipped with virtual reality headsets, 125 students from Le Cèdre, in Murviel-les-Béziers, and 90 students from Les Arborys, in Magalas, discover careers by immersing themselves in different professional universes ( Legal, IT, Agri-Food, Mechanics, Catering, Jewelery, etc.).
Virtual reality enables the user to instantly view a place and be completely immersed in it thanks to the 360 ° image. They were able to visit a garment workshop, a company, a construction site … without leaving the classroom. In addition to helmets, card games and job descriptions complement the collection to help college students find their profession.
This fun and dynamic process clearly won out for the participants. The next and last intervention was postponed due to new health restrictions in May at the College in Rogan.
