A company from Marne has launched its own brand of mini-computers.

It is a 10 x 12 cm cube that can be held in one hand. Simple body made of metal and wood. However, this cube is a small, stationary computer, Created and manufactured by Young company LN GroupeEstablished in 2023, headquartered in Bethany, specializing in information technology. This PC will be on display at the company's stand at the upcoming Châlons-en-Champagne exhibition on August 30, 2024.

The idea of a mini PC had been floating in the mind of Raphael Boulos, founder of LN Groupe, and his partners for a year: “We are often asked to sell hardware and we see that users choose by default. Many buy the “less bad” desktops. They are often not satisfied with the aesthetics of the usual towers.”

Two world records were broken in terms of performance.

In a miniature version, With an envelope made of wood and metalThis computer should attract specific customers according to Raphael Paulus: “Most of them will be professionals. Those who have a well-run business, who make a good living and who want a solid and aesthetically pleasing computer. I’m thinking of lawyers, insurance companies, notaries, often self-employed or freelancers who want to maintain an overall aesthetic on their desks. Very large towers hidden under the desk, with cables visible, is not a dream for us. The cables will still be there, but much shorter and connected directly to the monitor.”

Aside from the aesthetics, this little box is connected to a monitor and keyboard. Just as efficient (or even more so) than a regular desktop computer.generally designed in these famous towers: In a normal tower, there is 80% vacuum, Raphael Boulos, founder of LN Groupe, explains. “This mini computer has 15 to 20 percent of the components, and the rest is taken up by the cooling system we developed. The downside of miniaturization is that it heats up. That's the fault of laptops, a computer that gets hot eventually dies. Our cooling system is very efficient.”

So we ran computer tests. The Marne business leader adds. They determine the performance score and this score is compared to a global database. We broke two out of four world records. This is proof that with a good cooling system, we can achieve performance that exceeds what it should be.”

Competition, David vs. Goliath

The fact remains that the mini PC sector is a highly competitive and international one. Many popular brands like Asus, Lenovo or Mac manufacture their own mini version of the computer. But there is nothing to worry about, says LN Groupe founder: “It’s true that they do exist, but they’re not very reliable. These big groups often put cooling systems aside because they’re expensive to develop. They’re designed to make them work, but no more than that. They have different production mechanisms, but they don’t make out-of-the-box or highly targeted computers because they have to sell them. We don’t have that problem. It’s a craft product, and we have the ability to do it, so it’s going to be complicated for the giants to compete with us on that, and we’re small innovators from Marne who have been worrying about me for a while!”
