Anbernic's RG40XX V Handheld Unveiled With AYANEO Pocket DMG Look and Unusual Control Layout

Since the beginning of the year, Anbernic has been releasing a new mobile device every month. As the company just launched a new version of K101 PlusWe thought it was over until early September. However, Anbernic has started to reveal a new mobile device based on the current model. RG40XX H (Currently $94.99 on Amazon).

More specifically, Anbernic decided to create a vertical version of RG40XX HWhich will soon be marketed under the name RG40XX V. Like RG40XX H The RG40XX V will feature a 4-inch IPS display with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and a chipset that is said to be powerful enough to emulate Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 (N64), and PlayStation 1 (PS1) titles. While Anbernic has yet to reveal the name of the chipset powering the device, we imagine the Allwinner H700 will be the basis for many modern retro gaming consoles.

To that end, the RG40XX V will retain the 3,200mAh battery found in the RG40XX HOn the other hand, Anbernic has removed the joystick from its vertical version, making the RG40XX V look like the recent RG40XX H. AYANEO POCKET DMGAs usual, a pair of shoulder buttons are visible, along with a MicroSD card reader for playing ROM files. Although Anbernic has yet to reveal a release date, we imagine it will happen sometime this month.
