For the vast majority of users, it is advised to only install Android apps via Google Play Store or other trustworthy app stores, but sometimes it has to be an external source. Installing downloaded APK files on a smartphone is not rocket science, but it is also not necessarily convenient. Today we are going to show you how you can use WebADB to install APK files from your PC to your smartphone in just a few clicks.
There are many reasons to get Android apps outside of the big app stores and use the option to install external APKs: alternative app versions, potential restrictions in stores or simply the fact that the Google Play Store & Co doesn’t want to use them. In Settings, Android offers a simple option to install external APK files outside the Play Store Unlock. You have to do the same to use the following tip.
APK files are completely installed automatically on the smartphone after opening them, but even then it is a very unpleasant way: downloading to the smartphone is not very convenient due to the fact that the pages are often not easy to use. Downloading from a computer is often easier, but how does an APK file from a computer to a smartphone? Of course, there are many ways to do this, but it seems like an unnecessary intermediate step.
We showed you some time ago how you can access smartphone files using your PC, today we go a little further and use the WebADB platform to transfer and install APK files from your PC to your smartphone.
just open WebADB And it establishes the connection with your smartphone, which is ideally done in just two clicks. Then you switch to the “Install APK” area and you can really get started. Now just select the APK file from the computer and the platform will start transferring and installing the selected APK file in the background. No smartphone or browser intervention required.
Depending on the smartphone model, this works quite easily. With Samsung smartphones, as with accessing files, problems can unfortunately appear in some cases. However, this is shown only by the fact that the file is simply not transferred and is not installed either. Follow-up issues shouldn’t happen, so you just have to try it out.
