Tuesday 1Verse In March, all the students of the College of Charles-de-Foucauld de Lamastre were surprised to see a strange truck arriving at the institution’s building: the Artimobile. For all layers of the establishment, it was about going to meet the craftsmanship.
innovative concept
This initiative, a national process supported by the Chambers of Commerce and Crafts (CMA), professional organizations and training specialists, was created in 2006 and is constantly crossing France. It encourages craftsmanship, creating opportunities for new as well as old professions, with the general public and college students. Craft is more than 250 different professions! Artimobile is an innovative and attractive concept, at the service of young people, combining different activities that allow them to explore the diversity of handicrafts. To do this, an interesting and innovative tool, Artimobile, a truck equipped and equipped with digital tools (digital tablets, virtual reality helmets) makes it possible to increase the awareness of schoolchildren about crafts, their diversity, training and opportunities. It is an active approach to supporting young people in their career path and is part of the department’s future path and college plan.
250 professions to discover
Craft is more than 250 professions to discover. Over 60 videos allow students to discover all aspects of these crafts thanks to artisan testimonials in areas such as mechanics, transportation, nature, fashion, beauty, delicacies, cutlery, art and heritage or home and decor. Middle school students discover careers interactively, through videos, worksheets, and tests. In addition, VR headsets allow for a complete immersion experience. Besides using these digital tools, students benefit from encounters with local artisans. Thus, at the Collège Charles-de-Foucauld, Philippe Pollard, the iron and steel worker of Lamastrois art who took part in the World Exhibition in Dubai, came to present his activity to particularly attentive university students.
