Marburg police have provisionally arrested two of the three alleged perpetrators following the burglary and assault on Thursday night (August 19). These are a 28-year-old man who lives in Marburg and a 16-year-old from Kirchen. The investigation with the third party is ongoing.
According to the current state of knowledge of the police, these three, a 22-year-old from Marburg and accompanying witnesses had their first encounter at about 12.20am at the exit to Lahnweise at the Savignystraße extension. The 28-year-old suddenly pushed the 22-year-old and snatched the mobile phone from him. The victim and the witness pursued those who fled after the crime and arrested them shortly thereafter. An attempt to power his mobile phone with money ended with him hitting the 28-year-old again and then he continued to run away with the mobile phone, money and companions. The victim and witness continued to search for the culprits that night, so that another confrontation occurred in the upper town, which again ended in one blow, this time probably executed by the 16-year-old.
The police, who have now been notified, have arrested the two youths, aged 16 and 28, after this repeated assault. Investigations are still ongoing, in particular with regard to the unknown companion of the detainee.
