Art is for everyone with the mobile museum in the heart of Beirut in the Landes

MuMo aims to reach audiences who do not have easy access to art by placing it directly in their living spaces: schoolyards, recreation centers, parking lots, and public plazas. For five days, this museum truck provides a unique opportunity to discover art in the priority area of Beirut.

From October 21 to 25, the Mobile Museum (MuMo) will be set up opposite Lacaze Park for an exhibition combining comics and contemporary art. This event is the result of a collaboration between the Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée et de l'Image and FRAC Poitou-Charentes. MuMo arose from the conviction that art is a tool for openness, engagement and awareness of the world, providing the first contact with contemporary creativity for people far from it.

Innovative exhibition

The exhibition proposed by MuMo combines comics and contemporary art, creating a unique visual and intellectual experience. Inspired by a curio cabinet, the interior exhibition space offers complete immersion in a diverse artistic world. In addition to this internal exhibition, the museum contains a small hall dedicated to displaying artists' videos. This space allows visitors to discover works from another angle, thanks to displays that enrich the understanding of contemporary art.

Artistic practice workshops

MuMo's outdoor space is designed to host art workshops and exhibitions of student work. These workshops provide participants with a practical opportunity to interact with art and develop their creativity. Direct interaction with art through these workshops allows for a better understanding and deeper appreciation of the works presented.

Receiving different audiences

MuMo will welcome schoolchildren and people from social, medical and social fields, including residents of Les Girandières residence, EHPADs and neighborhood associations such as Moustey and Bois et Services. These visitors will have the opportunity to discover the exhibition in a suitable and friendly environment. In addition to booked visits, MuMo will open its doors to the general public during an open afternoon on October 22, 23 and 25 from 3:30pm to 6pm. The afternoons will allow everyone to attend, discover the business and participate in the activities offered.
