Unfortunately, video games aren't all good news, and we should also expect some problems along the way, as is the case here with Terminator.
Fans of open-world games and fans of the Terminator universe have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Terminator: Survivors, a game developed by Nacon Studio Milan. Since its announcement in 2022, this promising game has generated a lot of excitement. However, less encouraging news has just been announced, which may disappoint those who were hoping to play it soon.
The end is finally not immediate.
The game was originally scheduled to release in October 2024, but will be delayed to allow the developers to refine their vision for the project. Terminator Survivors is now scheduled for release in 2025. In this title, players take on the role of survivors trying to rebuild society while facing off against Skynet machines and other competing factions. The game features a single-player mode as well as a co-op mode for up to three friends, where exploration, resource gathering, and building a base will be essential to survival. The game is set in 2009, between the events of the first two films in the series, and explores a new story in this rich universe.
In an announcement posted on social media, Nacon explained that this delay was necessary to fully realize their vision for the game and meet player expectations. The company acknowledged that this delay may disappoint some fans. However, it stressed that this decision was aimed at ensuring the quality of the final product. We know this will be a disappointment to many,“Nacon said”But we want to respect this universe, its fans, and our community.“
After launching in early access on Steam, a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version is also scheduled to release at a later date. The developers seem determined to deliver a gaming experience that honors the Terminator universe. Even if it takes a little more time to get there.
