“Bridgerton” -Beau Regé-Jean Page turns out to be a gaming geek · KINO.de

With “Bridgerton” he became a star. But “Dungeons & Dragons” should be a heart project for Regis-Jean Page. In an interview, he revealed the reason.

Paramount Pictures’ remake of “Dungeons & Dragons” comes just in time: the fantasy stories are now more popular and in demand than they have been for a long time. The success of series such as “Game of Thrones” and “The Witcher” and films such as “Maleficent” shows that the audience is there. And you want more.

But there is a shortage of fantasy films coming to the big screen, of all places. The Green Knight just announced himself. The people in charge of Paramount Pictures must have thought there could be more – eg the new “Dungeons and Dragons”. And how seriously the team takes on director duo Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daly is shown by the impressive cast: plus Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Regier-Jane Page. .

Page was singled out in particular for his role as a leader. And this is despite the fact that he never played “Dungeons & Dragons” himself – neither the original role-playing game nor one of the countless mods. In an interview, he revealed why he still considers himself fit and equipped diverse:

“I used to listen to a few podcasts on ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ during my time. I played a lot of JRPGs (Japanese role-playing games like Final Fantasy, editor’s note). As a teenager I looked up and down on Diablo so I know what It means to play Bladen – that’s what I do. And I kind of know what that means. I watched my friends play Baldur’s Gate. So I’m kind of a second generation with Dungeons & Dragons.”

Once accepted, he allowed his friends, who are more familiar with the subject than him, to teach him in the vast universe. Preparing couldn’t be more fun: “I’m making my mortgage payments by fighting fairy dragons,” Page says.

Not much is known about the plot of the upcoming movie at the moment. But one thing is already certain: the remake of “Dungeons & Dragons” in the Forgotten Realms should go in the direction of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” in terms of atmosphere.
