Stuttgart – Mitte – A 29-year-old man is suspected of brutally attacking and robbing a 31-year-old man in the Josef Herneplatz district of Stuttgart Mitte on Monday evening. The suspect is now in custody.
According to the police, the woman was on her way to the City Hall tram stop around 10:30 p.m. when she was suddenly attacked on the mezzanine level by an initially unknown person. The man asked her about her valuables and was said to have shaken and hit her until she finally handed her her cell phone. When the woman called for help, he noticed passersby and rushed to her aid. The man ran away.
As part of the manhunt, officials arrested the suspect in Clet Pass, with the 31-year-old’s cell phone still with him. When the police examined the 29-year-old, it was found that an arrest warrant had been issued against him on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. At the request of the Public Prosecution Office, the suspect, who appeared several times before the police, appeared before a judge on Tuesday, and sent him to prison.
