Sony is taking advantage of CES at Las Vegas 2022 to reveal, via Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the technical specifications of the next PlayStation 5 virtual reality headset.
Sony has announced that the virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 5 will be called – without many surprises – the PSVR2.

No images have been revealed yet (although we’ve known for a while what the consoles will look like) but the manufacturer has released some tech specs, from having OLED screens with 2,000 x 2,040 pixels per eye, with a 90Hz refresh rate to 120Hz and approx 110° viewing angle.

We also learn that eye movement is tracked in real time and that gaze will allow, in particular, to interact with items on the screen. The controllers, now called the PS VR2 Sense, have haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, like the DualSense PS5. Also note the 3D sound reproduction through headphones, and the connection to the console via a simple USB cable, all without the need for an external camera for tracking.
