Collectible Card Game Finally Comes to Mobile

JJC Pokémon Pocket, the mobile trading card game, is launching in October! This free version of the popular license will include the old iconic maps while welcoming new maps, called Immersive.

After encouraging players around the world to roam the streets up and down catching creatures and inviting themselves into our dreams, Pokémon is back on our smartphones with Pokémon TCG Pocket, a mobile collectible card game. Yes, more than twenty years after its launch, the Pokémon Card Game is here. And it still brings people together – to the point where some of them are now worth a small fortune. With this new release, announced last February during Pokémon Day 2024 and developed by The Pokémon Company and DeNA, the Japanese mobile gaming giant, you will be able to enjoy what are called fantastic “immersive” maps. On the program: collection, clashes between players and even trades. The game will be available on our smartphones on October 30. Pre-registration is already open on the App Store and Play Store.

Pokémon Pocket TCG: Simplified Rules for Beginners

There’s already a mobile app for the collectible cards, called TCG Pokémon Love. If it essentially allows for player-to-player battles that follow the rules of the Pokémon Card Game to the letter, TCG Pokémon Pocket should operate with simplified rules, allowing beginners to get comfortable with the format. Let’s hope the two apps don’t interfere with each other.

The Pokémon TCG Pocket will include classic cards, but also new ones, including the popular “immersive cards,” which give the impression of literally diving into the card’s illustration. As for the holographic cards, they will benefit from special effects to embellish the display and give it volume. Collectors will be able to show off their cards, exchange them and engage in friendly battles, thus recreating the friendly atmosphere of the license tournaments.
