At about 3:45 pm, the crew of a patrol car on the Ruhrstrasse learned of two men standing on the driveway at the Florastrasse/Ruhrstrasse intersection, blocking the flow of traffic. While checking the duo, one of them, a 21-year-old from Gelsenkirchen, secretly and illegally played the audio recording of his cell phone.
When the officers saw this, they asked the young man to hand over his cell phone to them. The guy now tried to delete the recording, and then the cell phone should be locked. But he resisted this act by hitting him with his fists. He hit him in the face, but was put to the ground with the help of the support staff who arrived. According to the police, pepper spray was also used.
According to the police, even while lying on the ground, the assailant tried to hit the officers with head buttons. In the end, however, he was able to fix. He was then taken into police custody and his cell phones were confiscated. The accused and two officers were slightly injured. Criminal proceedings began.
