Crafton acquires developer Subnautica Unknown Worlds

subordinate PUBG: Battlefield-Developer Crafton Today it announced that it has acquired Unknown Worlds, the makers of Subnautica. The company announced that this latest decision is a continuation of Crafton’s expansion strategy. Unknown Worlds will be KRAFTON’s sixth independent studio, joining a group of experienced developers such as PUBG Studios, Striking Distance Studios, Bluehole Studio, RisingWings and Dreamotion.

The Subnautica experience should flow to Krafton

Unknown Worlds will bring a wealth of experience to developing community-led gaming experiences at KRAFTON. Founded in 2001 by Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire, the popular studio developed Half-Life from the Natural Selection group, which later received a commercial sequel. Maintaining its community-focused roots, the studio released the critically acclaimed and commercially successful console and computer games Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero in Early Access prior to their official release.
