Blanca Li continues to amaze us with a fantastic ball in virtual reality
The immersive experience allows you to choose your clothes, from the Chanel brand, a black or tight tuxedo, a white dress with camellia … It’s the start of a whirlwind that will dazzle your eyes, with a cruise amidst giant water lilies, a ball they danced with animal heads, shot in a sparkling Parisian cabaret . Two real artists play the role of multiple characters and dance in front of and with you, an amazing experience for dance lovers. This live virtual reality show is the work of choreographer Blanca Lee, who worked on this project for three years with Studio BackLight and curated by Chanel. Having started with content for companies, the studio has already moved towards the gaming and entertainment sector. Today, 100 cinemas around the world, including about a dozen in the Paris region, use the content created by BackLight. With a live performance, the studio had to innovate to incorporate the innovative ideas of the choreographer. For example, you had to create a maze that is created as you go along. Ball ends on March 6. The creation of this exhibition, which crowded about fifty people, cost almost two million euros. Blanca tells me: “We climbed the mountain together, and in the end, this is what I wanted: people dream, share this dream with us, and laugh too.”
