Two years later, Michael “Phenomeno” Germann’s time in Cologne is over. The FIFA professional is looking for a new sports home and expressing his ambitions for the title.
Phenomeno wore the FC Cologne jersey for two seasons.
1. FC Köln
A different environment, a new opportunity, the first title? This sequence appears to be the hope of the “phenomenon”. The 26-year-old announced on July 31 that he is leaving SK Gaming and therefore also 1. FC Köln. German played for the merger of eSport and the Bundesliga club for two years – with great success.
The tried and tested FIFA player was particularly impressive in team competitions. Last season’s VBL Club Championship finished with 1. FC Köln – also thanks to “Phenomeno” – in second place in the Northwest Division. In the finals, the semi-finals are over. In the first edition of the DFB ePokal, Germann came a long way in the team, having enough for second place.
However, “Phenomeno” was not awarded any trophy during his time in Cologne. Mönchengladbacher has always given a solid performance, especially in individual competitions, but without distinction. The best proof of this was the knockout round of 16 in the virtual Grand Final of the 2021 Bundesliga.

In his farewell message, the Xbox player emphasized his qualities in doubles. The mentioned team competitions confirmed this strength. Now it’s “title time” – at least that’s the point of the “phenomenon”. Before that, a new team must be found.
Germann’s next professional home doesn’t seem to be certain yet. At the very least, the FIFA player requests to retweet his Twitter post and mentions his management of KiNG eSports. In addition, his former teammates at SK Gaming are advertising for the 26-year-old. Tim ‘TheStrxngeR’ Katnawatos wrote something like: “A feature for every team.”
