Culture takes first place – under this slogan, Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich invited people from the most diverse areas of society to the “Cultural Summit 2021 – Conversations with Perspective”. “It was important for us to focus on convergence again after a period of distance. Exchange and listening were the goal and at the same time the program of these encounters,” says Kultur.Region Managing Director, Martin Lammerhuber.
One of these summit tours led to Ötscher. Culturally active people in particular have a special sense of expressing desires, changes, and longings. Walking, listening and discussing together, all participants shared their personal experiences from this difficult time – without trainings and meetings, without events and security planning. The findings serve as a model for future work in regional culture. All knowledge and all teachings are incorporated into a new declaration on the importance of regional culture, which emphasizes the value and role of regional culture in society.
“The summit talks should serve as a catalyst to re-engage in the areas of culture and education on a voluntary basis,” Lammerhuber explains the intention of the three-hour trip. “At the time of the closure, it was clearly noticeable how much the area needed for culture, and how much people were missing out on cultural experiences.”
