Passport integration with Google Wallet is possible today
Since Thursday, October 17, Google has been testing the functionality with US passports. To take advantage of this function, you must register for the Google Play Services Beta program, which specifically includes having a version higher than Android 9. To enter your passport into Google Wallet, simply click “Add to Wallet,” then select the “US Passport (Beta)” function. However, integrating Passport with Wallet requires special care: it will be necessary to place your passport on a flat surface, and then scan the document by removing the cover of your smartphone to avoid interference. You will then have to try to find the chip on the back of the passport to allow it to be scanned.
