Habata Gallery, a virtual immersion in the daily life of our ancestors
From Friday 17 September to Sunday 19 September at the Maison de l’Archéologie
The exhibition “HABATA, A Virtual Immersion in the Everyday Life of Our Ancestors” is a journey through the home of the Metal Ages (2500 to 250 BC) in Hauts-de-France, designed by a team of archaeologists, researchers and specialists of this period. Thanks to the discoveries made during the excavations, it is now possible to give a better representation to all of the lives of women and men during the two millennia preceding Gaul. This event is an opportunity to promote the latest archaeological research by presenting a selection of objects discovered in the area, but also through the use of new technologies: an innovative virtual reality device that allows visitors to enter a Bronze Age house and observe its inhabitants in their daily activities. _Exhibition prepared by the Department of Pas-de-Calais (Directorate of Archeology), the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research, the University of Lille and the Laboratory of Halma – UMR 8164 (CNRS, ULille, MCC), in collaboration with the DRAC Regional Service for Archeology of Hauts-de-France, with the support of the Department Culture at the University of Lille and the University Institute in France.
Entry is free, in accordance with current health regulations in places open to the public
The Habata exhibit is a journey through the habitats of the Mineral Ages. Discover unseen objects that are more than 4,000 years old and immerse yourself in a home from this era in virtual reality.
