In Brest, three bikes have been connected to the Foch Sports Center, the beginnings of a mobile physical activity venue – Brest

In Brest, between the rugby stadium and the Foch sports center, three free bikes were set up by the sports department of the city of Brest, on Wednesday, March 30. The goal is to make a mobile spot for physical activity, which would travel to different places and events.

The goal is to get people to discover exercise in different locations in the city and also to test the places: see if there is a reason to install something more permanent afterwards.

“We purchased these bikes to design a mobile place for physical activity. They are the number one item. We will probably add tennis tables and mobile fitness equipment,” explains Philip Loho, Sports Division.

Easy-to-move bikes

The bikes have already been tested for the first time in the Capucins, during the Tour de France. It can be moved easily and is also brought around the city of Ponant, during the various events. For example, in May, for the temporary garden, they will be moved to the Place de la Liberté. Until then, the bikes should remain in place. “The goal is to discover the exercise in different locations in the city and also to test the places: to see if there is a reason to install something more permanent then,” adds Philippe Loho. Foch is likely to be the back-up site for the mobile site.

Bicycles connected via bluetooth

The bikes are special: they can be connected via Bluetooth to the Kompan Cardio app. The user is thus able to discover their speed, stamina, distance and calories burned. Target ? Motivate the practitioner and help him set goals.
