InfinityFlex 14, the first convertible laptop from Tuxedo

German manufacturer TUXEDO launches the InfinityFlex 14 with usage modes. It's a classic laptop, but also a great Linux tablet. The entire device weighs 1.5 kg, with a partially aluminum body. Presentation.

In classic laptop mode, you can work as usual using the keyboard and touchpad. If the screen is opened more than 300 degrees, the convertible Linux system can be used in two modes as a touchscreen for presentations or to watch a movie.

With maximum screen rotation, Tuxedo Infinity Flex 14 It can be transformed into a large Linux tablet for comfortable browsing on the couch, reading an e-book or drawing in Krita with the pen. Once the device is used in monitor or tablet mode, the keyboard and touchpad are automatically disabled to prevent incorrect inputs, the screen contents are rotated according to the orientation of the chassis, and TUXEDO OS (an operating system based on Ubuntu) is also running that adapts its user interface to touch use: icons and buttons are displayed larger and spaced out, and the physical keyboard is replaced – once necessary – by an on-screen keyboard.

This convertible Linux PC is based on an Intel Core i5-1335U processor, with 10 cores (consisting of a performance core and 8 energy-efficient cores) and a TDP of 15 W. To ensure comfortable handling of the convertible PC even in 360-degree tablet mode, the main body had to be extremely thin (less than 15 mm). Despite the space limitations, the InfinityFlex 14 integrates two RAM slots and a swappable SSD as well as a 55 Wh battery which, together with the energy-efficient processor, allows for up to 6 hours of autonomy in local video playback.

With its palm-sized design and weight of just over 250 grams, the ultra-light 100W USB-C power supply won't fit in your pocket and can be easily carried around at all times.

In addition to the charging function via the two USB-C ports (1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen2 “all-in-one”), these ports, together with HDMI 2.0, allow connecting up to 3 external displays to the workstation used. Add to that two USB Type-A ports, a microSD / SIM card reader and a 2-in-1 headphone / microphone jack.
