regional. The Center-du-Québec Regional Council for the Environment (CRECQ) this week launched its “Free and Mobile” project in Centre-du-Québec.
This project involves raising awareness and supporting the companies, institutions, organizations and municipalities of the Center-du-Québec to put in place measures that will encourage workers and students to make more use of active (cycling, walking, etc.) and collective transport. (Using cars, buses, etc.) as part of home business trips or home study.
“The Libre et mobile project invites citizens and organizations to be part of the solution to make our travels more respectful of public health and the environment”And the Claude Lefebvre, President of CRECQ mentions.
In order to experience the various alternative modes of transportation for solo driving, CRECQ invites residents to register for the Challenge Without Solo Driving, organized by the Association des Centers de Gestion des voyages du Québec, which will take place from 13-19 September, 2021.
“Later, we would like to invite participants to share their experience with us in order to identify the brakes and obstacles to sustainable mobility,” notes Ariane Lefevre, project manager at CRECQ. These will be part of the solution in order to guide the recommendations that will be made to the organizations that we will support in the process. “
A participation prize will be drawn among those who have shared their experience. For more details, interested organizations, workers and students are welcome to consult with www.crecq.qc.ca/libre-et-mobile.
It should be noted that the Libre et mobile project in Centre-du-Québec benefits from financial assistance from the Government of Quebec drawn from the Action-Climat Québec Program and meets the objectives of the Green Economy 2030 plan, in particular by reducing greenhouse gases.
“Sustainable mobility can be quite a challenge, particularly in a somewhat rural area like Centre-du-Québec, but the Libre et mobile project will allow the actors involved to think together, allowing their creativity to run free and take action. Innovative, facilitates sustainable mobility for all, Mister Lefevre concludes.
