Zeit: Little Nightmares 2
Unfortunately, the horror adventure in terms of puzzles and path finding is very simple and should rarely offer experienced players real obstacles? Unlike, for example, the veteran genre “Unravel”. The new element in the form of battles is fun only to a limited extent due to the clumsy controls. However, if you are into this type of game or just want to get a little intimidating, then you have an entertaining and fun adventure here.

Little Nightmares 2 and televisions
As the name suggests, “Little Nightmares 2” is once again revolving around little accumulations of horror. Tarsier Studios are largely based on the scary classics of the locations, which in real life are probably best avoided. Or would you like to visit a rickety hunting lodge in the dark woods, a school full of creepy dolls and brutal teachers or an unused hospital with crazy sick patients?
She sneaks into the role of little boy Mono, who wakes up in the woods with a paper bag over his head and sets out to explore the world of horror. Next to him is the Six Girl, whom fans of the genre still know as the main character in Little Nightmares. The mismatched couple is trying to discover what the terrifying sign tower and televisions are all about. The full story about Mono and Six is a little interrupted by the individual regions, but the puzzle surrounding the game’s world makes you happy.
Little Nightmares 2 is just a little frightening
Love 2D and 2.5D game worlds in the form of “Limbo”, “Unravel” & Co. But are you afraid of the nightmares of the same name? This is understandable due to the dense atmospheres and areas that have been almost entirely successful, but unfounded. Little Nightmares 2 is not an excessive horror shock that will haunt you for days and nights. In many areas you are extremely nervous and expect evil traps or outrageous villains at any time, but this is usually announced. Moments of true shock are few and far between; No need to be afraid of really big jumping scares.
Overall, the title is often generous when it comes to level design: the individual sections aren’t very large, and most tracks and important things are almost squeezed into the eye as a player. Type experts should usually pass through here without much effort. Time pressure due to impending danger is also extremely rare. There are also several checkpoints available for all activities and potential failures. Six, on the other hand, acts as an AI companion and assists its protagonist with some hurdles. And for the first time, Mono also has the option to eliminate small enemies with the appropriate armament in the form of soup ladles or hammers. This is a good idea on paper, but in practice the controls in combination with small hitting boxes have proven extremely challenging, which means some combat sequences turn into annoying “trial and error” clips. Compassion!
Little Nightmares 2 looks really cool
Graphically, “Little Nightmares 2” is quite convincing in this genre. There are discounts on muddy textures and jerky animations, but the lighting effects make a difference. The horror adventure has the most important aspect anyway: the atmosphere. The levels aren’t burdened with any villains, but they give the player’s thoughts plenty of room for the frightening ones.
The excellent sound also contributes to a great extent. The characters don’t speak here, but there are cracks and rattles around every corner. At school, floorboards creak, in the background you can hear puppet children laughing badly or the teacher break out and run while you yourself are just looking for a way out of this hell. Of course, the entire background looks better when the headphones are turned on.
Little Nightmares 2 release: February 11, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X releases will be released later in 2021.
