“Matrix 4” mocks Facebook with a new poster

In the future, Facebook wants to rely completely on the Metaverse, a virtual space that can replace large parts of physical reality. The marketing department of “Matrix 4” has now used this ad for a successful critique.

This week, Mark Zuckerberg addressed the public with a message that his company Facebook has rebranded itself Meta. The well-known social media platform will continue to operate under the old name. But Facebook has just grown over the years, it has listed competitors like Instagram and WhatsApp and with Oculus VR it has also captured one of the leaders in terms of virtual reality.

Meta should now point to the new direction. Social media is the present, but the future is the future. In the virtual space, which must also be linked to physical reality, the most diverse digital services must be linked to each other. People should meet there, socialize, play with each other, go to work and much more.

Zuckerberg calls it “Metaverse”, evil tongues can also call it “The Matrix” …

Eating found for “Matrix 4”

As for the marketing department of “Matrix 4: Resurrections”, this ad is absolutely true. After all, the sequel to the popular science fiction series will soon begin in the cinema and the advertising campaign is in full swing. The official “Matrix 4” channel on Twitter has now published a revised version of the official poster – with the added words: “Now based on real events”

A good gag pointing to the fact that the metaverse has similarities to the matrix that gives the title. This is virtual reality created by machines to make people believe that they will live a normal life when they are actually enslaved in the physical world.

The metaverse planned by Mark Zuckerberg is still far from becoming a hyper-real alternative to reality that is hard to distinguish from the real world. But in the event that a true Matrix appears in the far future (please don’t!), it’s possible that Mark Zuckerberg is one of the founding fathers of this technology, who just took one of the first steps in that direction with his use of the Metaverse.

The fact that such a joke can be worked out more than 20 years after the first “Matrix” movie was released is a bit troubling, but it also underscores how much the sci-fi masterpiece from 1999 saw even back then…

Matrix 4It will be released in German cinemas on December 23, 2021.
