Microsoft Flight Simulator: Global Update 6

Even in its original version, published in August 2020, “Microsoft Flight Simulator” makes a great representation of reality. The developers have improved this in recent months with so-called global updates. Five of these patches have been released to date and digital versions from Japan, USA, Great Britain, France, Benelux and Northern Europe have been provided with new details and additional airports. Now World Update 6 is in the starting blocks. This will be published on August 24, 2021 and will focus on Austria and Switzerland as well as Germany. The developers have already provided a first preview of the update in the context of a file streams.

Elbphilharmonie and Holstentor

Digital correction beautifies various landscapes in more detail and especially highlights important landmarks. In Germany, they include Holstentor in Lübeck, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Marienburg Castle in Hanover, Deutsches Eck in Koblenz, Burg Katz and Loreley in Sankt Goarshausen, Sankt Bartholomä am Königssee and Allianz Arena in Munich. In Austria, for example, the Eggenberg Palace in Graz, the Giant Ferris Wheel in Vienna and St. Stephen’s Cathedral receive cosmetic treatment. In Switzerland, take a look at Tarasp Castle in Scuol, Swiss National Museum, Grossmünster in Zurich, Chapel Bridge in Lucerne and Notre-Dame Cathedral in Lausanne.

Three new airports and other plans

You will maneuvers to take off and land at three new airports in the future. These include Lübeck Airport, Klagenfurt Airport and St. Gallen-Altenrhein Airport. With the Junkers Ju 52, a new aircraft is also part of the party. Last but not least, the developers have provided an insight into the additional plans for “Microsoft Flight Simulator”. For example, seaplanes will be introduced to the game with Sim Update 5 in July 2021. Helicopters and gliders will be added in 2022. Later, beacons and beacons will appear in the game world. With the ebb and flow of tides and the northern lights, the developers want to integrate two natural phenomena into the game world as realistically as possible, but there’s no timeline for that yet.
