When it’s still impossible to get your hands on a regular Xbox Series X, it looks like Microsoft is working on some new hardware behind the scenes. Obviously, a company of Microsoft’s stature always has something new in the works and in this case, the source sharing this information is not Microsoft itself. This information was published by Shpeshal Nick in the latest XboxEra Podcast.
From what he shared and which we’ve echoed via Reddit, Microsoft may be working on new hardware that will be presented, for more data, later this year, in the fall. We’re not directly talking about a new console, according to the data he shared, it could be something no one expected, virtual reality, we don’t know…
Microsoft’s new hardware in the works?
Microsoft has new hardware that will be introduced this fall that is very different from what people expect.
The above quote leaves the door open for different possibilities, and virtual reality has been talked about in the past, although Phil Spencer has always been against technology that he feels is isolating the player too much and moving away from his philosophy of the game.
On the other hand, Microsoft might one day (I’ve talked about this in the past) release its own “Xbox Stick”, a device that allows access to all streaming content on Xbox, just like what Amazon sells with its hardware. Again, this is just speculation, but it could all be possible. For now, as always, in these cases we ask for caution and patience until the company itself makes an official statement regarding the announcement of this new virtual machine.
