Mobile app to facilitate on-demand transportation in Saguenay

The app has been available to users in La Baie since July 15 and to users in Jonquière since August 19. On-demand transportation in Jonquière will start on August 26, but until then, users can request their ride.

Before the arrival of this new tool, users had to either contact customer service at the Société de Transport du Saguenay (STS) or go to the company's website.

Users who were unable to access the app complained that they were not informed of route changes or bus arrival times. Now STS Go! It indicates if there is a change in the schedule and warns the user if the bus is delayed by a few minutes.

It's a model that has been worked on and changed. In February, Noovo Info tested the service and the general manager told us that the app was not up to par. In fact, this was Blaise's request. It was changed because when it was overloaded with multiple requests, the app had difficulty performing.

The new app is more efficient than the old one, according to the organization, and STS plans to roll out the on-demand service in other sectors of the city, such as Chicoutimi-Nord, for just a few times a day. Consultations and analysis will only take place in 2025.
