The mobile vaccination clinic east of Sherbrooke in the eastern towns stopped, Thursday, to distribute the first and second doses of the vaccine against Covid-19.
The mobile vaccination unit stopped at 4 Seasons Galleries in the afternoon, to the delight of the citizens. Some even canceled the appointment of the second dose at the De Voire Vaccination Center earlier and closer to their homes.
Volunteers in the field
Volunteers for Outreach and Humanitarian Action (VOSACH) has been involved in promoting vaccination in various areas of Sherbrooke, by informing the population directly in the field. “We are in the field a few days before the bus arrives to tell them that on such and such day the bus will be there, from such and such an hour, that such vaccinations will be available,” explained Ndiaja Ba, one of the volunteers, that it is also free and fast.
The volunteer said that many of the newly vaccinated were also affected by the introduction of the vaccine passport. “I saw people who were very reluctant and now they are being vaccinated because of it,” said Ndyaga Ba.
The vaccination bus is on its way. It will stop at the Festival des gourmands de Val-des-Sources on Friday before returning to Sherbrooke on Saturday, at Agrégat du Phare and at Ciné-Parc Orford. More than 2,000 people have already been vaccinated in the mobile unit.
