Gamescom Opening Night Live had plenty of surprises, ending in particular with the announcement of Mafia: The Old Country.

Hangar 13 has already revealed this new take on the Mafia series that will explore the origins of organized crime in a brand new adventure set in what is described as “the underbelly of 20th century Sicily.”

The short teaser doesn’t reveal much, but the studio promises to reveal more details about the game in December, so we can obviously look forward to seeing more from one of the last serious GTA competitors later this year.
Mafia: The Old Country is due out on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC in 2025, and should also find itself in direct competition with GTA VI, also planned for next year.
