nPerf ensures that Bouygues Telecom's approach had no impact on the mobile network ranking results.
We reported this week that Bouygues Telecom sent a letter to its employees at the end of June asking them to carry out tests via nPerf to “secure” its number one position in mobile networks, which it first obtained during the first half of 2024.
After this practice, nPerf, the standard benchmark for the quality of operators' mobile networks, provided us with details indicating that even if it did not support this type of practice, it had no impact on the rating.
nPerf has told us that they do not want to do this. “Highlighting its independence from all operators. The study uses a strict filtering method to reflect real customer experiences on a given network (mobile or fixed). Measures are taken to prevent bots or abnormal usage from influencing the results. Therefore, the actions that Bouygues Telecom could have taken according to your article do not affect the results. For this metric, 811,054 tests performed on the nPerf app by 112,084 users in France were taken into account, in the first half of 2024.
And to specify “Bouygues Telecom was already tied for first place on June 27, so this connection did not affect our ranking.”
