Paris: Jeu de Paume dedicates an exhibition to Juliette Angel

All this summer, for the first time, Jeu de Paume will be held at Paris Plages!

It reveals a selection of nearly 20 images of the capital by the water, signed by big names in photography.

It is also an opportunity to discover the new online creation of French artist Marie Lelouch, “Simulation of Quasi-Objects”. Like a video game, it offers an exploration of arid and inhospitable landscapes that questions our sensory perceptions in the age of climate change.

In Tours, the Jeu de Paume invites visitors to (re)discover the contemporary season's exhibitions – Juliette Angel and Gerda Palioset – and in Reims, it invites photography and sports enthusiasts with the exhibition “History of Sport”.

While waiting for the reopening of the Art Center, the whole team wishes you a wonderful summer and will see you at the end of September for an unforgettable weekend!

The Jeu de Paume is dedicating an exhibition to Juliette Agnèle, winner of the Niépce Prize – Gens d'Images 2023 at the Château de Tours, from June 14 to November 10, 2024. Exploring bas-reliefs haunted by stories, rocky cavities or ancestral forests, Juliette Agnèle’s photographs seem to reveal imperceptible traces of a universal memory. After studying ethnic aesthetics and the visual arts, notably at the Fine Arts in Paris, she met the French filmmaker and ethnologist Jean Rouch. This encounter took her to West Africa, where she has returned regularly for almost ten years. Today, she continues her travels, photographing environments as diverse as the Bardenas Desert in Spain, the glaciers of Greenland and, most recently, the forests of Martinique. The exhibition “Pierre, Leaf, Flint” at the Jeu de Paume–Tours sets up a dialogue between five photographic series that have marked the artist’s recent work. The summer season opens at the Château de Tours, which is completely contemporary.
