Sony plans to launch a new Playstation VR for the new generation. Now the first details have appeared with the first technical specifications.
With the release of the new generation of consoles, Sony is also pursuing the goal of using the improved performance corresponding to virtual reality. There was already in The first statement that it became known that the Japanese company was working on a new version of Playstation VR. Until then, there will initially be no VR support for the new console.
Or maybe we don’t have to wait long for new details to be posted. At least, the rumor mill is currently very active and reports on the first details and technical features that should make up the new glass. There is also talk of a new name.
As a result, the device shouldn’t simply be called PSVR 2, as previously assumed, but rather NGVR, which should be short for Next Generation Virtual Reality. Technically, we are supposed to be dealing with Fresnel OLED screens, which have a resolution of 2000 x 2040 per eye.
A 4K HDR display should also provide a field of view of up to 110 degrees and offer flexibly expandable resolutions. The latter is used to build display and resolution based on the eye tracking system in order to orient itself towards the focused gaze of the player.
In order to reduce motion sickness, they are also working on new tactile features, which should also improve immersion when playing. New linked controllers are automatically included in the package when new glasses are released.
Recently, Sony is pursuing the goal of focusing on VR support for Triple A games. The player should be given the option to play the VR version or the non-VR version. However, it may happen that games already released for the first VR glasses can be remastered.
