Over 15 years ago, horror fans were allowed to revel in the Spanish village of Pueblo with Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil 4. Since then, the title has appeared on countless platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. Now it’s the most immersive variant of all: a VR version appears exclusively for Oculus Quest 2, which has now also got a specific release date.
Accordingly, Resident Evil 4 VR will be released on October 21, on schedule a few days before Halloween, so just in time to curl up under the sofa again when the zombies get a little closer thanks to virtual reality. On the release date, Oculus will also introduce a new trailer.
The new Resident Evil 4 VR trailer once again features a first-person perspective
“What are you buying?” The VR trailer starts with this famous phrase from the Resident Evil 4 dealer. It follows the classic Resi gameplay: fun puzzles, creepy zombies and of course a handful of weapons and the opposite bit of action. Just everything from an ego perspective.
It was different from the original. Unlike newer titles like Resident Evil 7 and Village, the series originally preferred a third-person viewpoint. With a leap into virtual reality, I adapted and chose the first person perspective. Definitely a good option, because for many the first person perspective contributes greatly to the immersion and that is definitely important with virtual reality.
As mentioned earlier, you can shiver from October 21, provided you have an Oculus Quest 2 headset. On the official website The company even set a release date with a time: Starting at 3pm GMT, which is 4pm in Germany, Resident Evil 4 VR will be playable.
