For several weeks, the Intercommunal Social Action Centre of Haut-Val-de-Sèvre (CIAS) has had a mobile kitchen that allows workshops to be held with seniors from the independent housing Le Soleil-d'Or. The production of this kitchen was financed thanks to a partnership with the Crédit Agricole agency in Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole.
During the social life council at the Le Soleil-d'Or residence, which brought together elected officials, residents and family representatives, the seniors wanted to set up cooking activities. Since the residence was not equipped, the CIAS Haut-Val-de-Sèvre team and the seniors conceived of creating a mobile structure.
The mobile kitchen is built in the form of a cart on wheels. It is equipped with an oven, a stove and cabinets for storing dishes and utensils. The equipment can be transported in one of the ICAS vehicles. Therefore, it can be used throughout the territory.
The objectives are multiple: to create social bonds that allow for conviviality and sharing around the meal, to enhance knowledge through the exchange of recipes, to stimulate memory and the senses and to raise awareness of issues affecting food such as malnutrition, diet, nutritional quality and seasonality of products.
Fully Funded
While looking for partners, the project received a warm welcome from the managers of the Credit Agricole branch of the Saint-Maxent-l'Ecole school who decided to fully finance the manufacture of the mobile kitchen.
