Samsung cancels physical attendance at Mobile World Congress 2021

Samsung will not participate in Mobile World Congress 2021, at least not physically. The manufacturer will prefer to make ads online, given the situation with Covid-19.

“The health and safety of our employees, partners and customers is our number one priority. So we made a decision not to attend this year’s Mobile World Congress in person.”Samsung said Reuters.

The existence of the Mobile World Congress 2021 was initially uncertain. Organizers announced for the first time that the event, which usually takes place in February, will be held this year in June. After that, the organizers confirmed an actual meeting with 50,000 guests. This will be twice in 2019. And as we can imagine, there will be very specific health restrictions. For example, guests will have to present a negative result for a Covid-19 test. The test should be repeated after 72 hours.

In any case, Samsung will not be the only one not to actually participate in Mobile World Congress 2021. Google has already canceled their participation. The same goes for Nokia, Ericsson, Sony and Oracle. To see if additional groups will be added to the list over the course of the weeks. This year’s edition will run from June 28 to July 1.
