magazine packaging : Your view of the packaging machinery trade is pretty much iconoclastic. However it is an environment you know very well. Can you tell us briefly about your background?
Emmanuel Vitox: It is true that I was born in it. I started in 1982 at Virey Garnier branding, and then at Zalkin, where I spent nearly a decade with a CEO who taught me business integrity and a passion for mechanics. Then my career led me to join companies like KHS, Aries, GEA or even BHS in most cases to cover administrative and sales management tasks. Dating back to 1996, ADV Packaging is a British company that I co-founded, initially specializing in refrigeration and packaging engineering and later on developing into machinery trading through an association with Italian packaging manufacturer AVE Industries. She left the company in the 2000s to start a family in France. Twenty years later, I had the opportunity to buy back shares from the family of the recently deceased owner. We have moved the company to France and are now relaunching, with half a dozen well-known brands, mainly in the liquid packaging sector, but our mission is not to be a simple distributor…
