The Google smartphone app has a function that allows us to recognize, search for and find a song by humming or whistling it. So lyrics are not necessary. Something reminiscent of Shazam online, while we can also recognize songs playing around us. Ok Google, what is this title?

What do you do when you have a song in your head and you can't put your finger on the name of that famous song?

We ask a friend or loved one by humming or whistling to them. However, there is no guarantee that they will recognize the tune or even know the song.

Google could then become our friend who will recognize the famous song thanks to its artificial intelligence and musical algorithms.

How do you find and search for song lyrics if you don't know the title?

The principle of this Google function is similar to Shazam, but it is more similar to the Soundhound app that also allows you to identify songs by humming them.

These apps are real revolutions. They have thousands of downloads so far.

However, Google intends to use its amazing artificial intelligence to quickly and efficiently identify the song being hummed or whistled.

Note that the function is available on Android devices in more than 20 languages, including French, while on iPhone and iOS, it is currently only available to us if our devices are configured in English.

So, to identify a song on Google by humming or whistling it, you should:

  1. open theGoogle app
  2. Click onMicrophone tab In the search bar
  3. Select the option: Find a song
  4. Hum Song melody

Google will then give us the search results that are closest to the song's melody.

Google can identify who's singing a song like Shazam

Note that we can also use it as Shazam when a song is playing around us, whether at a friend's house or at work.

By clicking on the song title, you will be taken to the Google page for the famous song.

You can then choose to listen to it on YouTube, Spotify, Deezer or other music apps.
