Apple has added SFR in three categories regarding eSIM support. The operator in the red box becomes the first to support the “eSIM activation by operator” function.
Operators are increasingly managing eSIM, the virtual SIM card, which is more practical to activate and transfer to a smartphone. At the beginning of the year, Orange became the first operator in France to offer a fast transfer of an eSIM between two iPhones, and SFR has now joined.

eSIM enabled at startup
As we mentioned earlier, SFR now also offers a quick eSIM transfer between two iPhones, allowing you to quickly transfer your contacts and mobile plan to your new iPhone, without having to go through the operator. This saves a lot of time and makes the experience much smoother.
SFR also joins Orange, as well as Bouygues Telecom and Free Mobile, in managing eSIMs on prepaid plans dedicated to travelers. The development will start in time for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games next week, bringing together millions of tourists from the four corners of the world.

If the operator in the red square joins its competitors in these two categories, it innovates in the third. In fact, it has become the first in France to support the activation of the eSIM card by the operator.
