A new X-class solar storm will hit Earth this weekend with multiple consequences including the possibility of low-latitude aurora borealis.
While the sky will offer a spectacular sight with nearly 100 meteors per hour in certain places during the Perseids, the weekend should be even more spectacular with northern lights expected at very low latitudes.
It's a new solar storm and quite exceptionally, the northern lights were visible as far away as northern Spain.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), this phenomenon is linked to the current solar activity, which is reaching its peak and leading to strong and frequent solar flares.
Thus, a moderate geomagnetic storm occurred on August 9 and 10 with three coronal mass ejections (CMEs), plasma bursts, and a magnetic field.
According to the location Trust my knowledgeThe northern lights and meteor shower can be seen across the northern United States, while in France, specialists are recalling the conditions “in the continuity of the rings observed at the beginning of May, at unusual latitudes after a historic solar storm.
