“We are aware that some members of Team Jackpot, which recently won the Splatoon 3 World Championship, are behaving in a manner contrary to our community guidelines while playing Splatoon 3. As a result, Team Jackpot's win will be considered void and the team will not receive any trophies associated with the event.”
“Additionally, the in-game Splashtag banner commemorating their success will be replaced with an upcoming software update. Nintendo cares about its players and community and takes responsibility for upholding community guidelines seriously.”
As indicated, the main culprits seem to be two of the team's players, Leafy and Madness. Various examples of their behavior were shown through Twitter, which we refrain from reporting in written form given the seriousness of the topic.
Fortunately, Nintendo decided to take action in this situation and canceled the team's victory. Hopefully this will serve as a lesson for the future and that gamers will learn to behave respectfully in and out of the game.
