A consultation about rabbits led to a serious dispute at a pet store in Fellbach. A potential buyer was slightly injured.
Fellbach – Keep Your Eyes Open When Buying a Rabbit: A supposedly innocuous conversation about the prospect of buying a pet culminated in a physical argument on Monday afternoon. The scene was a pet store on Stuttgarter Strasse in Fellbach (Rems-Murr district), where the father wanted to buy a rabbit for his daughter. The 46-year-old was still struggling over whether he should not take long-eared bats with him due to species-appropriate animal husbandry. However, in consultation with the specialized staff, a customer intervened and evidently overheard the dialogue – perhaps not entirely satisfied with the exchange of ideas between the would-be rabbit and the seller.
The man was hit in the face
When the family man took his cell phone to ask his daughter, he told those around him, the situation escalated: the 30-year-old customer slapped the phone out of his hand. The man sustained minor injuries to his face. The exact motive for this act remained unclear, and the woman may have suspected the man wanted to photograph her, a police spokesperson explained when asked. Anyway, the cell phone fell to the ground and crashed. The damage to a mobile phone is likely to amount to about 300 euros. The summoned police began criminal proceedings. Bad luck for the daughter: According to the police, the rabbit is still waiting for the buyer.
