This release will coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Sword Art Online anime. Players and fans will be able to find Kirito there and discover the rest of his story. It will be free to play, but items will be available for in-app purchase.

Cross Edge, supposedly created by a genius high school student, seems to bring back memories of Kirito. One day, two rumors about this game caught his attention. The first is about a mysterious player who comes out of nowhere and ends up with the others and whose loss to him causes him to lose some memories. Secondly, this player wears a hood that hides his eyes…which is reminiscent of Kirito’s strength of the player-killing guild laughing at the coffin he encountered in SAO. In order to investigate these rumors, Kirito and his friends start playing Cross Edge but soon become the target of a surprise attack.
